RGV Rapid Response

What is RGV Rapid Response?

The Brownsville Rapid Response Team represents multiple grassroots organizations serving the immigrant and refugee populations in the Rio Grande Valley located in Deep South Texas.  This site centralizes communications for the ACLU Texas, Angry Tias and Abuelas, Brownsville Advocacy Academy, RGV Equal Voice Network, and Team Brownsville.

In the spring of 2018, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a Zero Tolerance policy that has resulted in hundreds of immigrants and refugees being trapped on the Mexican border or "body dumped" into the community without resources of any kind.

Brownsville Rapid Response is a humanitarian effort to coordinate relief for the families and children who find themselves without food, shelter, or basic hygienic supplies.  The vulnerable human beings in our midst count on the generosity of people like you who can spend time providing orientation, supplies, or funds for their basic care.

It is the mission of Rio Grande Valley Rapid Response to welcome, orient, feed, clothe, and otherwise serve the immigrants and refugees being released en masse in the Rio Grande Valley.
